Alfa Romeo 159 For Sale Prices & Depreciation Trend

Used Car Expert recommends that you try to buy after a big drop in depreciation and before the next one, so with the current Alfa Romeo 159 you would aim to buy a 4 year old and you can keep it for some time before needing to worry about a big drop in value.
| Year | £ Average Price | £ Drop | % Depreciation |
| 2012 | £24,857.50 | - | - |
| 2011 | £21,171.00 | £3,686.50 | 14.83 |

Petrol Alfa Romeo 159 cars lose most over the first year (from new to 1 year old), so that is the best ‘nearly new’ buy in terms of car for money.
Petrol Alfa Romeo 159 cars lose least between years 1 and 3, so this is the best buy if you want to keep the car for a while.
Petrol Alfa Romeo 159 cars lose least between years 2 and 4, so that is the best buy on older cars.

Used 15 – Buyer’s Guide
Why buy a Used 15?
We would never suggest buying a car on looks alone, but if you were going to do so, then this would be that car. Luckily the 159 lives up to the visual promise. Well built and with excellent petrol engines the 159 satisfies head and heart.
The 159 is a real sea change in Alfa quality - exceptionally rigid, the car was engineered in conjunction with Saab and it shows. The cabin is a little tight for space and the diesel engine a bit slow, but who cares when it looks like that?
I’ve seen several Used 15 for sale, which should I buy?
The range of Engines is good and there isn't a great deal of price differential between the petrol and diesel cars - go for Turismo spec and try to find one with leather if you can - it makes a huge difference to the ambience.
If buying on budget go for a 1.9JTDM in Turismo spec - avoid the big wheels and the complex 4 wheel drive system. The estate version are roundabout £500 more than the saloons.
Fault Checks for the 15
I’ve seen a Used 15 for sale, what is a good price?
Pay under £8,500 for a 4 year old 1.9 JTDM or 2.2 petrol with 50,000 miles showing on the diesel and just 32,000 on the petrol.
There is a massive drop at 3 years old on the petrols. So buy one with a full MOT and then enjoy nearly flat depreciation thereafter.
