An extremely silly car; the Cygnet is basically a tarted up Toyota iQ, which is sold by Aston as a kind of city car to go with the DB9 or Rapide as sort of ‘add-on.’ You can kind of see what they were aiming at, but its not really worked
If you are mad enough to buy one of these then you’ll be getting a car that isn’t quite as good as the iQ and paying four or five times as much for it.
One engine and one trim level is all you get. It has every option and ticks every box except the one marked ‘taste’.
Remember that each of these cars is bespoke – created for the taste of the kind of person who would spend £32,000 on a Toyota city car. Enough said.
Secondhand prices for this car are hard to define. About £18,000 for a nearly new car with less than 10,000 miles on the clock is where they are now. Long term residuals look bleak given the near 50% loss in the first year.
Buy nearly new and don’t sell. If you do, expect a huge hit.
