Looking to buy a 2003 Audi R8 car? Used Car Expert has thousands of 2003 Audi cars for sale from 2003 Audi car dealers and private sellers across the UK.
Audi's first true supercar. As amazing to drive as it is to look at, the combination of the savage 4.2 V8 with mid-engined handling and the security of Quattro four wheel drive is an intoxicating one indeed.
The R8 took Audi into new territory price-wise and the car has a no-expense spared feel. Despite the power and handling the ride is civilized and the car can cruise. Prices softening as the cars come out of the dealer network.
There are few trim and spec options with the R8. The later 5.2 V10 cars are still way north of 100K. Essentially it boils down to colour and choice of gearbox. Go for the manual - the auto box is abrupt and unreliable.
The cars lose value fast when they come out of the dealer network so find an early private sale, with 20,000 to 30,000 miles on the clock for a bargain. Or wait a year or two for prices to fall and stabilise.
The price of a 2 year old 4.2 V8 will be £66,000 with around 8,000 miles on the clock. An Aston Martin V8 (which cost similar money new) will set you back around £10,000 less.
The R8's prices are held artificially high by the dealer network in the early years. Prices could fall off a cliff any day.
Used Car Expert recommends that you try to buy after a big drop in depreciation and before the next one, so with the current Audi R8 you would aim to buy a 3 year old and sell it before it is 4 years old.
