The Spark is Chevrolets entrant in the highly competitive Supermini class, currently led by the Ford Fiesta. It’s a credible car. Cheap, well built like all Chevrolets these days and very unpretentious in the way it does things
If you really don’t care about image then the Spark makes a good case for itself. Inside room is great, the cheap and cheerful petrol engines are strong, and maintenance should be simple. Good to drive as well.
The Spark is a pretty basic car in any variation and you can’t have a diesel. Go for mid range LS spec as that has air-con as standard. Some cars have a five year warranty.
The Spark has all you need and nothing you don’t. Don’t worry about spec, it’s just not that kind of car. The 1.2 engine is worth the extra. It’s much stronger and suits the car.
Chevrolets hold values as well as the competition. Pay around £5,300 for a two-year old 1.2 LT with less than 20,000on the clock.
