The second generation Santa Fe builds on the strengths of the first. It's a strong competitor to cars like the Honda CR-V and actually not far off the higher end SUVs like the Lexus RX and BMW X3. An excellent effort.
Although the handling can be a little wooly and the interior a little plasticky the Santa Fe has very few faults. It's very practical, very commodious and the third row of seats is well planned. School run Nirvana.
You have no choice but the excellent 2.2 diesel unit. It's a great motor - powerful and smooth with good economy. Go manual - the auto is ok but it limits economy and the manual box is so good.
