Used Jeep Commander 2006 – Buyer’s Guide

Why buy a Used Jeep Commander?

The Commander is Jeep's rival for the Land Rover Discovery. It's not anywhere near as good but it'll be reliable and it's a lot cheaper. It looks a trifle butch for the school run but it's very comfy and highly practical.

Unless you need the third row of seats it's hard to see what the Commander offers over the Cherokee and Grand Cherokee. As a 7-seater SUV though, it's very good value. Better on road than other Jeeps.

I’ve seen several Used Jeep Commander for sale, which should I buy?

The Commander runs an excellent 3.0 diesel engine borrowed from Mercedes and that's about your lot.

Go for Limited trim. The Commander LTD is one of the most comprehensively equipped cars you can buy.

I’ve seen a Used Jeep Commander for sale, what is a good price?

£13,000 will get you a Commander in LTD spec at 4 years old with less than 50,000 on the clock.

Nearly new is the best time to get a Commander. First year depreciation is as high as 30%. Makes utter sense at four or five years old as well.
