A true Lotus. Light, agile, fast and incredibly smooth riding, the Exige showcases all that is good about Lotus. Sadly, it's about as dependable as the Northern Line but it's also much, much more fun.
The Exige is strictly a second car. Run one as your only transport and risk madness. As a second car though, it's peerless. Prices are very firm as the car has a fanatical fan base.
Almost all Exige models are different. But unlike the early Elise on which it is based, it has a Toyota engine, which is reliable.
Go for a basic spec, post 2004 Toyota powered Elise. Make sure it has a FULL specialist history and buy from someone who knows the cars.
Pay around £20,000 for a 6 year old Exige with around 30,000 miles on the clock.
Depreciation is not as light or predictable as the Elise. Perhaps because it is a more hard core purchase. Check latest stats before buying.
