Motorised sculpture. A very good car that also happens to be one of the most attractive in production. Great engines from Ferrari.
Because it's based on the four door Quattroporte, the GT is a real four seater. The interior is truly luxurious, the handling and ride well-judged for a GT car. Only the Semi auto box spoils the fun.
If you can stretch to it, later cars with the fully automatic gearbox from ZF and the 4.7 V8 are much better than the earlier cars.
Go for a 3 year old model - even though it will have the 4.2 V8 and semi-auto box as the car will have lost more than 50% of its value in 3 years!
Pay around £55,000 for a 3 year old car with around 25,000 miles on the clock. Make absolutely sure the service history is comprehensive.
The best time to buy is at three years old when the first MOT is due. But you can make a substantial saving on later cars if you buy nearly new.
