Looking to buy a 2003 Mazda Cx-7 car? Used Car Expert has thousands of 2003 Mazda cars for sale from 2003 Mazda car dealers and private sellers across the UK.
The Mazda CX-7 is one of those cars that never really made it on to the radar in the UK. It's a shame because it's excellent. Very similar underneath to the Ford Kuga, the early cars only have 2.3 petrol power but are usefully cheap.
The Mazda CX-7 has the best handling of any small 4X4. Better even than the Kuga on which it's based. The ride is good as well, as is the cabin. Accommodation can be tight but there's more than enough for 3 kids and all their gubbins.
The 2.2 diesel engine is the same unit fitted to countless Fords and the Land Rover Freelander. It's very good but the price premium is too high. Go petrol - the 2.3 turbo is well suited to the CX-7.
On earlier cars you are stuck with the 2.3 petrol and manual box. Luckily that's the best and cheapest combination for this car. Spec is pretty much the same for all models.
Pay no more than £12,500 for a 3 year old, petrol 2.3 CX-7. Or, if you like to waste money, the cheapest comparable diesel will cost you £6000 more.
Diesel cars are best bought any time really. Petrols drop off a cliff from day one. Get a petrol at 3 years.
Used Car Expert recommends that you try to buy after a big drop in depreciation and before the next one, so with the current Mazda Cx-7 you would aim to buy a 3 year old and sell it before it is 4 years old.
