High-end coupe from Mercedes that sits atop the whole range. Room for four in comfort with their luggage. Big, Smooth petrol engines and a space-age design ? nothing else is quite like travelling in a CL.
The biggest Mercedes coupe has always provided a peerless driving experience and this generation is no different. The fact that the smallest engine option is a 5.5 litre V8 tells you all you need to know about this car.
The 500 is ample. The AMG CL63 is hugely fast but monumentally expensive to run. The 600 and AMG CL65 have a V12 and prohibitive running costs. These are millionaire's cars and deep pockets are needed to run them.
Go for a CL500. If you are in the market for this kind of car, you'd be mad not to consider the CL. A 2 or 3 year old car with under 20,000 miles can be had for less than half the new list price!
You can get a 3 year old 500 with less than 20,000 on the clock for £45,000. Traditionally prices on this model have kept softening so although you might be getting a bargain it will continue to drop.
The depreciation on these models has historically continued at a heavy rate. Around 3 years with its first MOT is a good time to buy but, really, it's going to be a bargain any time...
