The Mercedes GL is absolutely huge. It's big in much the same way Texas is big. Too big to be practical in the UK really. Unless you have loads of kids and live down a long track it makes no sense.
The Mercedes GL is a fantastic car to drive and it's lovely to be in. The problem is that it is enormous. It's very, very difficult to park and in town it takes ages to get anywhere unless you drive like a soiciopath.
There are petrol GL class Mercedes in the market but they are owned by lunatics so be careful. Go for the 3.0 diesel. The 4.2 diesel is OTT.
The 3.0 diesel model is the only vaguely rational choice. All are fitted with every option you can think of.
£26,000 gets you a 4 year old 3.0 diesel GL320 with less than 70,000 on the clock. A two year old version of the same car will be £34,000 with around 22,000 showing.
Depreciation on the Mercedes GL is pretty steady but best to wait 2 or 3 years before purchase.
