The Vaneo is a rather bizarrely styled stretched A-Class Mercedes. Not the current A-Class either, the one before. Due to its high roofline and compact dimensions it makes a great motablility car but, other than that, not much to go on...
The Vaneo is very cheap and viewed is a budget way to undertake short, hectic daily trips like the School run it does make some sense.
If you are after a pure utility motor than go for a petrol automatic - a 1.6 to be precise. The diesel engine is far from Mercedes' best and is very noisy.
Classic trim will be more than ample but make sure you get one with air-con.
Pay £5000 for a 6 year old 1.6 petrol auto in Classic spec. The car should have no more than 60,000 miles on the clock.
