The MG TF should be a real bargain now. Based on the earlier MGF it's a mid-engined sports car designed to competed against the Mazda MX-5. It comes second, so you should only buy if you find a cheap one.
The strong points of the TF is it's excellent handling and stylish exterior design. The weak points are incident prone K series engine and prices compared to a Mazda MX-5.
There's not much to choose from in terms of variants of the MGTF - go for the 1.8 VVC model as that runs 160BHP and is a hoot to drive.
Go for as late a 1.8VVC as you can find and make sure the engine has been serviced correctly. Buy one without a service history only if you are mad.
Pay no more than £5000 for any MGTF. There are later cars built buy MG's new Chinese owners but be careful not to overpay for one.
Depreciation should be flat ? and it only spikes if a dealer tries his luck on the prices because he has a clean one in a cute colour.
