If you like things done well, and find satisfaction in great value for money, then the 508 is a car for you. Especially if you have lots of long commutes.
A big boot, firm but comfortable seating all round and lots of head room covers off the passenger concerns. And the responsive handling and refined engine keeps the driver happy.
It’s hard to see why you would buy anything other than a 2.0 HDI in the best spec (Allure or above ideally) you can find.
The 2.0 HDi gives terrific real MPG, is super quiet, torquey and powerful.
The 508 is cheap when new compared to the mainstream Saloons from Ford and Vauxhall. While that makes the depreciation look less exciting to used buyers, the car remains great value.
A decent specification of car – like the Allure - is yours for under £25,000, and a 2 year old version of the same is around £15,000.
