Used Subaru Impreza 2008 – Buyer’s Guide
Why buy a Used Subaru Impreza?
Subaru's current shape Impreza is a neat handling if ugly family hatch that runs right from family friendly 2.0 diesels right up to the better-looking turbo-nutter rally spec WRX models putting out 400 BHP. All are tough and all handle well.
As a family car the Impreza is not as good as mainstream rivals, nor as cheap, but can be had diesel. Residuals for the diesel models are strong and they are robust, if dull cars. Petrols are much cheaper.
I’ve seen several Used Subaru Impreza for sale, which should I buy?
Go petrol with the Impreza. Though the unique 'Boxer' diesel unit is superb (and sounds like a V8 petrol) the premium for this motor is around £1000 and the servicing and insurance will be a lot more than the 1.5 petrol.
The 1.5 petrol is bargain family car and very capable. It's our choice for his model - all spec variants come well equipped as do all Subaru models.
Fault Checks for the Subaru Impreza
I’ve seen a Used Subaru Impreza for sale, what is a good price?
A 1.5 petrol Impreza will cost £14,000 nearly new with delivery miles and is likely to last a very long time.
On basic models, the diesel models of this car should hang on to their value well. Petrol should lose it faster but the best time to buy either will be at 3 years.
