It's a MK4 Golf with a boot... Um... Well that's about it really. A Golf. With a boot. A stylish car in a way the Jetta never managed to be and a bit of a cult car in some quarters.
Although it IS just a golf with a boot the Bora makes a pretty strong case for itself as a viable and cheaper alternative to a 3 series or an A4.
Go petrol with the Bora. A 1.6 petrol will cost £800 less at three 6 than a comparitive1.9 diesel. That generation of VW turbo diesel is very tough though, it makes sense if you do a lot of miles.
Don't worry about trim too much as long as the car has air-con - a 1.6 petrol SE is the top choice with this car.
Pay around £3000 for a low miles 1.6 Bora petrol in SE spec.
