Durable and comfortable the V40 is now a cheap car with a decent badge that makes real sense as a budget buy.
The V40 was a competitive junior executive estate when launched and still retains an aura of quiet respectability. Surprisingly good to drive and the T4 is a bit of a rocket.
Diesel V40s seem to be cheaper in the secondhand market place - mainly due to the high mileage and usage patterns of Volvo estates. Go for a nice, lightly used petrol in an unfashionable colour and grab yourself a bargain!
