The Volvo XC60 is a neat, small 4X4 from Volvo that is unashamedly road based and all the better for it. Very, very comfortable indeed with an absolute master class of a cabin that embarrasses vehicles from two classes above.
The XC60 is a very sophisticated machine and one that is a beguiling day to day proposition. If you want to transport you family around in luxury and safety in all weathers this is a very good bet. Very expensive as a consequence though.
You have no choice but to go for a diesel as there are no secondhand petrol cars in the market as yet. An automatic gearbox suits the car but you'll pay £500 or so for it.
SE spec is ideal for the XC60 - the bigger wheel and tyre options are a bit daft as they damage the absolutely first class ride which is kind of the point of the car.
XC60s are not cheap. Pay £25,000 for a 3 year old Se spec model with less than 20,000 on the clock.
These cars are holding very firm prices at the moment. Buy and sell at any time.
