All go for Skoda - Car Review

SKODA’S version of the VW Up! will be called the Citigo when it reaches showrooms in the summer of next year.

First available as a three door, the new city car will first be introduced in Skoda’s home market of the Czech Republic.

A five door model should be available by the time it launches here and there will be two versions of the same 1.0-litre, three cylinder engine, producing 60 and 75bhp.

The car – with its VW Up! and SEAT Mii siblings - will offer a five star safety rating with high occupant safety from head/thorax side airbags for driver and front passenger in conjunction with other advanced technologies.

These include a new active brake assist system that works automatically at low speeds - under 18mph.

Depending on speed and level of traffic, the system can reduce the affects of a crash or prevent it altogether.

Interior

There’s not much detail on the interior at the moment, but if recent Skodas are anything to go by, it will have everything most of us need.

Skoda claims a full adult four seats, which makes it one of the biggest city cars on the market, and will help it appeal to a wider audience.
