LOOKING at the list of Audi's different models in each range, they are beginning to have the same problem Volvo suffered a few years ago – there were so many that no-one knew them apart.

The latest is the Q3 - a range of mostly quattro four-wheel-drive equipped crossovers but with a two-wheel-drive model for maximum economy.

Deliveries will start in November and initially there will be three engine choices – a 2.0-litre TFSI with 170bhp, the same engine boosted to 211bhp, and a 2.0-litre turbo diesel with 177bhp.

Prices will start at about £25,000 for this smaller brother to the Q7 and Q5 and all engines will have start/stop as standard.

The top two units will also be available with the superb VW Group twin clutch automatic which Audi calls S-tronic.

An efficient, economy designed 2.0-litre TDI with 140bhp and front-wheel-drive will follow with low kerb weight and 54.3mpg.

Interior

In-car technology will include new generation navigation, online Bluetooth enabling access to Google services, and parallel park assist.

Two specification levels will be available for UK Q3 models – SE and S line. SE has 17-inch alloys, roof rails, rear parking sensors, climate, top audio and an ipod connection.
