SEAT is ramping up the value in both its Ibiza supermini and Leon hatchback model ranges with the arrival of a new trim level.
And even though the new Copa grade, which in Spanish means cup, adds in some cases more than £1,000 worth of extra kit, there will be no increase in price.
The new trim level is launched in all three Ibiza bodystyles – three-door SC, more practical five-door and ST estate – in one designation, SE Copa, and with a choice of 1.4 16V petrol or 1.2 TDI CR turbodiesel engines.
It adds the likes of 16-inch Fabula alloys , climate control including refrigerated glovebox, rain and light sensors for automatic wipers and lights, dark tinted rear windows, leather steering wheel, auto-dimming rear view mirror and bespoke Copa upholstery to the current SE spec.
That’s in addition to the standard Ibiza SE’s equipment like cruise control, six-speaker MP3 compatible radio/CD with AUX-in and steering column-mounted controls, alarm, immobiliser and electric windows. Ibiza SE Copa prices start at £11,995 for the SC version.
Leon buyers, meanwhile, have an extra option in the shape of both S Copa and SE Copa versions, with prices starting at £16,180 for the Leon S Copa 1.2 TSI.
The latter, based on the entry-level S trim level, adds dual-zone climate control, Bluetooth mobile phone connectivity, front seat height and lumbar adjustment, cruise control and bespoke Copa upholstery.
SE Copa brings in the SEAT Media System, rear parking sensors, light and rain sensors, auto-dimming rear view mirror and the Copa upholstery.
The media system bundles up touch screen satnav and 3D mapping plus dynamic route guidance, an SD card slot for MP3 playback, DAB radio tuner and Bluetooth audio streaming.
Like its Ibiza stablemate , the Leon Copa variants come with petrol or turbodiesel engines – the new 1.2-litre TSI 105 PSturbocharged petrol or 1.6-litre TDI common rail 105 PS oil-burner.
SEAT also has a range of zero per cent finance and Personal Contract Plan deals that run until the end of June.
