THE latest version of one of Europe’s most popular commercial vehicles, the Fiat Ducato, is about to hit the streets after three decades and five generations.
With an extended range of completely new engines, the latest Ducato will, says Fiat, prove cheaper to run than the model it replaces.
A fresh interior gives the CV a more car-like cockpit and with more versions than ever before, there’s plenty of choice up for grabs.
The trio of power outputs from the previous Ducato’s three engines will be replaced by four outputs - 110, 130, 148 and 177bhp - from 2.3 and 3.0-litre engine capacities on the new model.
All feature Fiat’s latest MultiJet technology offering more power, fewer CO2 emissions and have longer service intervals.
Inside, there are higher quality materials, new seats and a re-designed dashboard with slot to accommodate the Blue&Me TomTom LIVE sat-nav unit.
And vehicles specified with Blue&Me can also have eco:Drive Professional, a version of Fiat’s eco:Drive Fleet which lets drivers and fleet managers monitor how vehicles are being driven and alter habits to improve economy and lower costs.
Prices have yet to be announced.
