Now that my daughter has started school, I am seriously considering getting an MPV to cope with the days when we have friends back for tea etc.
I have read lots of great reviews about the Ford S-Max but the problem is that I really prefer automatics. From what I understand, the Ford is not a 'true' automatic and thus I am not sure if this will achieve what I am looking for.
Help!
What I am looking for is a 'cool' MPV ie not too boxy/school bus-esque which is OK on fuel and also good to drive for longer journeys (as my husband puts far too many miles on his car for work, so mine would be the main family car)
It needs to be a nice car to drive too as once the children are at school/nursery, I want to enjoy it too. My current car is a Hyundai Santa Fe which, whilst very practical on many fronts, isn't the greatest of drives. Oh, and automatic too. Is my perfect car out there?
Thank you

Hi Melanie,
The S-Max does come with a normal automatic, on the 2.0 diesel and 2.3 petrol engines. It fits you’re criteria perfectly. You don’t need me – just go and buy one.
Matt
p.s. The new Citroen Grand C4 Picasso looks very cool too.
