A new Mercedes C class Sports Coupe is rumoured to be released in 2008. How much, in percentage terms, will this effect the trade in value of a new current 2007 model purchased now in three years time? Most of the information I have found suggests a future value of around 54%, but does this figure take into account the model change? Would appreciate your advice.

Your information is good; a new model is due next year and 50% - 55% of new value is a realistic price for a three-year-old C Class Sports Coupe right now.
According to Mystic Motoring Matt’s Crystal Ball a new model coming out is only really going to hurt the prices of the pre-registered and nearly new cars.
If you buy now, you shouldn’t have anything to worry about. Your car will be 18 months old by then and at the end of the three years it should all shake out to be much as it is now.
