SO far this year it’s been celebrations all the way for Hyundai as the South Korean car maker shows its mettle with its highest ever set of June sales figures.
The company continued in growth mode by selling some 7,362 vehicles, delivering a 3.88 per cent market share.
This new high represented a 38.5 per cent increase over June of 2011 and contributed to a rise in sales of 11.38 per cent in the first half of 2012, compared with 2011.
Following investment in a new fleet sales structure Hyundai UK has also seen a dramatic uplift in company car sales with almost 18,000 vehicles being registered so far this year - a rise of 41.75 per cent in a market which is slighlty down.
This growth has been driven by a fresh product line up - particularly the new i20 and i30 hatchbacks and the larger i40 saloon and estate cars.
The i800 MPV also posted its highest ever volume with 367 registrations in June while Hyundai's best seller is the i10 five door city car with 11,363 sold.
Tony Whitehorn, president and CEO of Hyundai UK said: “We have had an exceptional first half to 2012, driven primarily by new product and consumers are choosing Hyundai in ever increasing numbers.
“The new i20, i40 and the new generation i30 offer style, refinement, efficiency and practicality alongside the peace of mind of Hyundai’s five-year Triple Care package which includes a five year fully transferable and unlimited mileage.”
Hyundai has just announced that a new generation of the popular Santa Fe SUV is set to be launched on October 15 with pricing starting from £25,495 for a two-wheel drive model while the new generation i30 Tourer, priced from £16,195 is set to arrive in the UK later this summer.
