I like the Alfa Romeo Gtv but have been put off by its poor reputation for reliability. Can you recommend a more practical but equally sporty used car that won't break a budget of £15,000.

If you are looking to say, “I’m young, sexy and can handle myself,” you want a 2006 2.0 litre Mazda MX-5 with around 7,000 miles.
If you are looking to say, “I’m successful, sexy and confident,” then you want a 2003 Mercedes SLK 2.0 litre with around 37,000 miles.
The Mazda will handle better and be more fun. But it’s no Mercedes…
