Supercar stocking fillers - Car Review

THE excitement of Christmas morning is almost upon us.

Just for a second suspend your disbelief and ignore the likely reality of a solid diet of mince pies and Alka-Seltzer, forget the wrapping paper and pine needles that litter the floor, and the air of mild disappointment emanating form the kids.

Think about the presents you’d really like - such as the keys to a supercar in your stocking.

Which car would it be?

Well, these cars are going to have to be stone cold second-hand bargains, cars that are hugely desirable but surprisingly cheap and attainable.

These three are hand picked by the team at UsedCarExpert and, if you look at the amount of value they have lost since new, represent incredible value. Merry Christmas.

Bentley Continental GT
A true heavyweight in all senses, the GT is huge, very fast and immensely comfortable. It drinks like uncle Dave at Christmas dinner but few cars offer such an intoxicating blend of abilities.  The GT is a relatively common sight these days though, which has affected used values somewhat. Also, the recently updated car looks exactly the same inside and out – put a private plate on it and nobody will know!

UsedCarExpert.co.uk Cars for sale: A pampered 2004, one owner Continental in a lovely metallic blue with a full service history and less than 50,000 miles on the clock is available for £34,995. That’s about £100,000 off of the new price!

Lamborghini Gallardo
The Gallardo is another car whose looks have changed very little during its production run. There’s not much to say about this car that you can’t see by looking at it. It’s a Lamborghini. It’ll do 200mph. It will cost light plane money to run. It’s utterly mental… and utterly wonderful.

UsedCarExpert.co.uk Cars for sale: A 2005 car will cost around £60,000 now. A new one will be another £100,000 on top of that. You get the ultimate car for the price of top spec 5-Series. If you can, then you must.

Aston Martin V8 Vantage
A car so beautiful that you could hang it on the wall as art. Goes a bit too with a 4.3 V8 and around 400bhp. Again, it’s going to be stupidly expensive to maintain but so what? It’s Christmas! Lovely, fast, wonderfully noisy and now comparatively cheap, the V8 Vantage is a Masterpiece and no mistake.

UsedCarExpert.co.uk Cars for sale: An utterly gorgeous 2005 model V8 Vantage in deepest black with all the necessary history and less than 35,000 miles on the clock is available for £34,995.
