Question

Hi

We have a 2000 Ford Mondeo, and find we are now unable to fit 3 child car seats across the back seat (2 forward facing, 1 high-backed booster).

So, we need to change our car, only spending what we can sell the mondeo for...

Any advice?

Answer

Hi

Hmmm... So a budget of £1500.

It's not as bad as it seems:

  1. A private seller with a 1.6 petrol Citroen Xsara Picasso, showing around 70,000 miles
  2. A private seller in a rush with a 1.6 petrol Fiat Multipla
  3. A private seller with a Mazda Premacy, 1.8 petrol

They are in order of liklihood and probably condition. The mpg and insurance is all pretty similar, so its a case of shopping around for the one in best condition at the best price.

All the best

Matt
