I have always wanted a two seated sports car but money and lifestyle have always been the barriers. I’m now in the position to fulfil my dream but I’m really only going off looks at the moment as I don’t have the knowledge for anything else. My budge is around £15,000 and I don’t really want anything older than a 2002, I like the Honda S2000 but was wondering what else is out there which is reliable, what the resale price is like and also what insurance I would be looking at, I’m 28 and have full no claims. Any help would be great!

Tracy,
The S2000 is a great choice. It is rapid, won’t break and has a dash of the sensible about it. It is in insurance group 20 (so it is expensive).
But come on, you need a bit of glamour too. Mercedes SLKs from 2002 are within your budget, cheaper to insure (groups 16-19 depending on specification) and will hold their value really well.
Interestingly, trade sources tell me that the only other cabriolet that can claim to be holding its value is the Mazda MX-5. Now that’s a sports car in the classic sense of the term…
