THE second Citroen DS model will reach showrooms next year after making its debut at the Paris Motor Show.

The DS4 comes only days after the company revealed a high performance version of the excellent DS3.

The DS4 will feature an uprated 1.6THP engine boasting 200bhp and yet emissions have been kept down to 149g/km.

The new engine will join two other petrol engines and two diesels, including a 110bhp eco diesel fitted with stop/start and other energy saving features.

Based on the forthcoming Citroen C4 hatch, the DS4 is sharply styled and available in a number of personalised trims.

It’s a five door with a good sized boot and will be available with Citroen’s six speed ESG semi-automatic gearbox.

There will be plenty of brightwork including chrome door cappings and it will have LED running lights fitted around the front fog lamps.

Interior

The DS4 will offer five combinations of leather trim and chrome detailing inside, plus alloy pedals and a full electric pack.

It will come with blind spot warning devices, electronic stability control, cruise and a speed limiter.
