THIS IS the fabulous new Aston Martin DB9, the first car to be produced at the company's all-new factory in South Warwickshire.

The sleek sports tourer will make its world debut next week at the prestigious Frankfurt motor show and will be on sale around the globe next spring.

The all-new DB9 is being built at Aston Martin's new Gaydon facility which is one of the most advanced of its kind in the world. Using the very latest in automotive technology and materials to create the DB9, skilled Aston Martin staff will spend more than 200 hours hand-building each car.

With a top speed of 186 mph, the stunning 2+2 has a superquick 0-60 mph time of just 4.7 seconds achieved through its V12 450 bhp engine.

The innovative DB9 heralds an exciting new era for Aston Martin - part of the Ford Premier Automotive Group - and will boost the number of car makers in the area.

Dr Ulrich Bez, chief operating officer of Aston Martin, said: "The DB9 will without doubt be the most important Aston Martin model ever. Not only is it the first time in our history that we have a purpose-built facility, but we now also have a dedicated platform.

"Gaydon is the future of Aston Martin, it combines cutting-edge high technology with hand-craftsmanship and tradition. It is probably the best facility of its type in the world, and the perfect showcase for how to design and build innovative sports and GT cars for the 21st Century."

When in full production, around 1,000 people will be employed at the Warwickshire plant, most having transferred from Aston Martin's Bloxham factory.

Gaydon is more than four times the size of Bloxham, where the Aston Martin DB7 is built.

The DB9 will replace the current DB7 which finishes production at the end of this year.

Power for the DB9 comes from a 450 bhp V12 engine which has been developed specifically for this model.

The Aston Martin DB9 will be introduced into markets around the world in the spring when final pricing - expected to be around £110,000 - will be announced.
