AUDI has expanded its range yet again with the new large A5 coupe and, apparently, there are even more models in the pipeline.
The A5 was first shown at the Geneva Motor Show and is a long, wide two door based on the A6, but with many changes.
Initially, the very good loking, muscular four seater will have a choice of four existing engines, some with increased power outputs.
There are 3.2 V6 and 4.2 V8's with 265 and 354bhp, plus 2.7 and three-litre TDI's with 190 and 240.
All get a six speed close ratio gearbox as standard, but there is also Audi's excellent continuously varaible Multitronic auto as an option.
Performance should be electrifying, with a claimed 0 to 62mph of 6.1 seconds for the 3.2 V6, and a limited top speed of 155 miles an hour.
Go to your Audi dealer fast if you want to order one, because numbers are likely to be limited. Deliveries start in August.
Interior
As well as comfortable space for four adults there's a large boot which sounds like it has the obligatory space for two golf bags.
It comes with keyless entry and starting and the key even communicates with the car's electronics, carrying details of mileage and warning messages from the car to the dealer.
