AUDI has announced that its new seven-seat Sport Utility Vehicle, the Q7, will cost from £37,285 when it finally arrives here towards the end of next summer.
Orders are being taken now for the large 4x4 vehicle, which is a rival to the likes of Volvo's seven-seat XC90, which costs from £31,235 in 2.5-litre turbo form.
Initially there will be a choice of two engines for the Q7, a 4.2-litre V8 with petrol direct injection developing 350bhp and 440Nm of torque or a three-litre V6 TDI delivering 233bhp and 500Nm. Both models will come with six-speed tiptronic automatic transmission.
Three specification levels will be offered for the V6 TDI model and two for the V8 petrol version.
Standard on the V6 TDI will be adaptive air suspension, 18-inch alloy wheels with 235/60 R18 tyres, Audi's Multi Media Interface control system, CD player, rear acoustic parking, cruise control, climate control and a driver's information system.
SE specification is standard for the V8 FSI and an extra cost upgrade for the V6 TDI. It adds a different 18-inch alloy wheel design with wider 255/55 R18 tyres, bumpers finished in a contrasting colour, additional exterior chrome trim, leather upholstery, heated front seats with electric adjustment and wood fascia inlays.
S line specification, which is optional for both engines, adds 20-inch, S-line alloy wheels with 275/45 R20 tyres, body-coloured bumpers, S line exterior styling and S line insignias. Inside, it includes a combination of leather and Alcantara upholstery, electric front sports seats embossed with the S line logo and matt brushed aluminium fascia and door inlays.
The 3.0 TDI models can be upgraded to SE trim at an extra cost of £2,500 or to the S line specification for an additional £3,400. The 4.2 FSI models are equipped to SE specification as standard with the S line option adding a further £900.
Prices are as follows: TDI tiptronic £37,285, TDI tiptronic SE £39,785, TDI tiptronic S line £40,685, FSI tiptronic SE £47,680 and FSI tiptronic S line £48,580.
SE trim is standard for V8 models and an extra £2,500 for V6 models. S line trim adds £3,400 for V6 models and £900 for V8 models.
