CHEVROLET has added a new flagship version of its Lacetti hatchback, with the accent firmly upon sportiness.
The new Lacetti Sport joins the current line-up of 1.4 and 1.6-litre models but gets a more powerful 1.8-litre engine and oodles of sporty stuff to go with it.
Power rises from 108bhp in the case of the 1.6-litre model to a new high of about 120bhp, which lifts the top speed fractionally to 121mph and reduces the 0-60mph time to under ten seconds with just a miniscule drop in economy to 38mpg. CO2 emissions are 183g/km.
Visually identified by a body-styling kit, it also gets body-coloured trim, new 15-inch alloy wheels, lowered suspension and integrated front fog lamps.
Inside there is full leather seat trim finished in charcoal grey, a leather-covered steering wheel and gear knob plus metallic-effect inserts on the doors and facia.
Equipment includes air conditioning, a cooled glove box, four electric windows, electrically-adjustable mirrors and a six-speaker Blaupunkt CD/Radio with steering wheel-mounted controls.
The car comes with a fixed price servicing package for a one-off payment of £200, which covers maintenance costs for three years or 30,000-miles.
