IT'S big, it's bold and it's quite a statement, but in fairness, what else would you expect from Chrysler?
Some vehicles claim to be seven-seaters, but leave the poor back-seat passengers needing contortionist-training to get in and out - the Grand Voyager, however, lives up to expectations.
Apart from easy accessibility the second and third row seats can be stowed away so opening up a massive storage area and the sliding rear doors are another added bonus.
Although, the Grand Voyager can feel a little cumbersome around town and parking is not the easiest, the 2.8-litre diesel engine offers plenty of power on the open road.
And if it's long, family journeys that are on the agenda, the Grand Voyager really has bundles of plus points.
Probably top of the list is the rear entertainment pack (£1,750 extra) which amongst other features, offers two drop-down DVD screens along with two remote controls - these can provide hours of entertainment and prevent plenty of teeny tantrums.
Elsewhere, the list of top-notch specifications is very lengthy, including an interior observation mirror to keep an eye on those back-seat passengers, cruise control, long overhead storage bins, leather trimmings and automatic climate control with three zone temperature controls.
And the safety features are excellent too with anti-lock brakes, electronic stability programme, numerous airbags, a tyre pressure monitoring system and a Thatcham Category 1 alarm and immobiliser.
If I had to find fault with the Grand Voyager, then it would be its occasional slow reactions in built-up areas and at times it seems a bit on the noisy side.
But the positives certainly outweigh the negatives - it's very comfortable over a long journey with seats that are easily adjusted, it offers great all-round visibility and is reasonably economical to run for such a large vehicle.
In reality, the Grand Voyager is never going to win many fans within the business or single person market, but for anyone with a large family, all those little extras could really make it the perfect buy.
