CITROEN fans can drive away their new car with free fuel for a year thanks to a new offer from the French manufacturer.

Retail and selected business customers who take advantage of the offer on C1, C3, C3 Picasso, New C4, C4 Picasso or Grand C4 Picasso models will be sent a pre-loaded MasterCard debit card to cover the cost of fuel for a year’s motoring.

The monetary amount on the pre-loaded card is calculated for each individual model based on its combined cycle fuel economy over an annual mileage of 10,000 miles.

Reckoned to be worth up to £1,500, the offer is available from now until December 31.

Citroen is confident that even after all the free fuel has been used, future petrol or diesel costs can be kept to a minimum as models like the C3 and New C4 already deliver fuel economy of up to 78.5mpg and 74.3mpg.

Some also benefit from free road tax thanks to sub-100g/km CO2 emissions. The family sized New C4 emits as little as 98g/km of CO2 - one of the lowest outputs for a vehicle of its size.
