CITROEN is inviting its business-class customers to step into its executive Lounge, although they will be expected to pay £24,000 for the privilege.
That is the asking price for the latest and most luxurious version of the C4 Picasso, which Citroen reckons is a masterpiece.
The most expensive Picasso in Citoren's range comes with just four rather than seven seats to create the sort of comfort levels enjoyed by the privileged few aboard a private aircraft or executive departure lounge.
The individual armchair-style seats are covered in black leather and although the vehicle does not actually fly, passengers can still have their heads in the clouds courtesy of the large panoramic glass sun roof.
There is also laminated glass for the windows to reduce noise, which enhances the sound of the Philips NXT sound-system with flat-panel speaker technology.
The 'flight deck' includes cruise control, speed limiter, front and rear parking sensors, automatic digital air conditioning plus rain-sensitive wipers and automatic headlights.
There is also ambient lighting to create what Citroen calls a calming environment at night.
Based on the 2.0 HDi Exclusive with a six-speed automatic gearbox, there is 118mph performance and 40mpg economy.
