I have a June 2000 mark one Citroen Xsara coupe HDI (90 bhp) and mileage is 73,000.
One garage says replace cambelt now and another says do it at 100,000. I am the 2nd private owner from 48,000 miles in Sept. 05 and the car does not appear to have been abused and the mileage is accurate as far as I am aware.
Can you advise please? Swaran
Answer
Hi
We believe it should have been changed at 72,000 miles.
Considering the damage it can do to the engine if ti fails, it is not worth taking the risk - get it changed as soon as possible.
