DAIHATSU is banking on one of its strongest sales incentives ever with five years free servicing on the popular Terios model to boost sales this spring.

All Terios mini-SUVs registered since the start of this year and up to March 31 will gain five years or 45,000 miles free servicing - whichever comes first.

On top of this all the Japanese producer's vehicles have a five-year unlimited mileage warranty together with five years roadside assistance which makes the Terios a near unbeatable package with low running costs.

The Terios range starts at £12,725 for the award winning Terios S, which has emissions as low as 185g/km for a road fund licence of £170.

Standard equipment on all Terios includes air conditioning, reverse parking sensors, electric mirrors, front and rear electric windows and remote central locking.

Powered by a 1.5-litre petrol engine giving the Terios S some 35.8mpg on the combined cycle, the car is slightly shorter than a Volkswagen Golf and with a turning circle better than some superminis.

With its high seating position giving better visibility than ordinary cars, its spacious interior and large boot, it makes a practical and fun recreational vehicle.

Commenting on the free service initiative, Daihatsu's operations director Paul Hegarty said: 'In this extraordinary economic situation, our cars have never made more sense.

'Daihatsus offer outstandingly low running costs and have an enviable reputation for reliability and economy.

'Now that the Terios enjoys five years free service, five years free warranty and five years roadside assistance, we expect to enjoy both repeat business from satisfied customers and new sales to those seeking excellent value for money.'

Each of the frugal four in the Daihatsu range has a fuel efficient engine and some of the lowest emissions in their classes.

The Sirion five-door supermini (from £8,320) 1.0-litre boasts a healthy 56.5mpg, while the Materia (from £10,770) 1.5-litre is capable of achieving 39.2mpg.

The Copen open top two-seater completes the line-up with prices from £11,745.
