All-American Dodge - Dodge Avenger Car Review

Review

Added: 20 Aug 2007
Last update: 30 Mar 2010

WITH butch good looks reminiscent of a coupe, Dodge has just launched its Avenger family saloon in the UK and it will be in showrooms from September.

Prices start at just £15,000 and with those strong good looks, it could be just the bargain you've been looking for.

There are three engines to choose from; a petrol 2.0-litre with 154bhp and a 2.4 with 167, plus a 2.0-litre diesel with 138bhp.

The 2.0-litre petrol comes with a five-speed manual and the diesel has a six-speeder but the 2.4 petrol is only available with a four speed auto.

Safety is very high on the agenda, with loads of airbags and an array of electronic safety devices.

The Avenger will be covered by Dodge's three-year/60,000-mile mechanical warranty, seven-year anti-corrosion warranty and three-year/60,000-mile European roadside assistance cover.

Price start from £15000 for the 2.0-litre petrol to £18,000 for the top 2.4 automatic.

Interior

There will be two trim levels available from launch - SE and SXT. Each includes an alarm system, tyre pressure monitors, stability control and traction control.

Top SXT models will also have foglamps, 18-inch alloys, boot spoiler, heated leather front seats and wheel-mounted audio controls.
