What to look for:
Check the service history to make sure the car has been serviced every 9000 miles or every 1 year. Make sure the oil changes have been carried out as per the advised schedule and check that the correct oil has been used.
What it means:
If the engine has been filled with the incorrect oil or the servicing has been neglected the DPF filter (Diesel Particulate Filter) can be damaged and, if so, will need to be replaced. This is a very expensive part.
What to do
