Fiesta goes top of the class - Ford Fiesta Car Review

Review

IF you've got to downsize don't worry about it, because the new Ford Fiesta is a cracker that is guaranteed to put a smile back on your face.

All the big car features are part of its kit because Ford is describing it as its most important car ever.

On sale in October and in showrooms now, prices start at £8,695, which is cheaper than the old model!

It goes straight to the top of the supermini class - Ford just gets better and better.

Sharp lines give it real style and, under the skin, it's stronger and lighter for greater safety and lower fuel consumption.

Engines are 1.25, 1.4 and 1.6-litre petrol and 1.4 or 1.6 diesel. All give better performance and economy than outgoing models.

The new 1.6 petrol TiVCT looks the star with 0-60mph in 9.9 seconds and a claimed 47 mpg. There will also be an ECOnetic version with a target of over 76mpg.

A new type of electronic power steering makes it easy to park and gives good handling with great road feel. Ride is also excellent - probably one of the best in class.

Interior.

A five-speed manual gearbox is standard with an auto available soon.

Inside, materials are all a big improvement and build quality is excellent. There is plenty of room for five adults but rear headroom is slightly restricted.
