Hi
I'm getting a new car soon and there seems to be great deals to be had buying an ex-fleet car.
They generally come with full service history but can be high milage.
Are there any drawbacks or stuff to look out for with these cars?
Regards,
Steve
Answer
Hi Steve,
Ex-fleet cars are just like any used car, some have been driven by caring 'owners' who clean them, don't ride the clutch and haven't hit anything. Others have been in the hands of reckless drivers, careless parkers, who don't do car washes.
So, test drive it, check it for common faults, and buy the good ones.
A huge amount of nearly new stock in dealerships is ex-lease, so its not something to be suspicious about. It's simply that the dealers tend to get the good ones, leaving the Supermarkets and online retailers with the high mileage and knocked-about stuff.
