A HOT version of the new Ford Focus will be confirmed when the company unveils the next generation of Europe’s top selling car at the Paris Motor Show.
The performance model is likely to be powered by a turbocharged two-litre ECOboost engine which delivers plenty of power with near diesel-like economy.
The new Focus is due to go on sale next spring in hatch and estate forms with the hot ST model arriving early in 2012.
Ford is keeping performance details under wraps at the moment but the mainstream Focus models will feature 1.6 and two-litre diesel and petrol engines.
The new car is slightly larger than the current model with sleek lines. Inside, the dashboard features new switchgear and an angular design giving it striking appeal.
Semi automatic, six speed Powershift gearboxes will also be available on the new Focus which will be seen at Paris in October alongside the new C-Max compact MPV.
First seen at the Geneva Motor Show in March, the C-Max will go on sale in November and will be available both as a five and seven seater.
Ford will also be unveiling a high economy stop/start version of the Ka city car which will be on sale before the end of the year.
