FORD has announced the prices for its all-new Ka, which is due to hit the UK market in January.
Ford is confident that the new Ka will retain its place as Britain's most popular city car, with prices starting at £7,995 for the entry level Studio and rising to £10,195 for the top of the range Zetec with a 1.3 diesel engine. Prices are up by between £350 and £450 compared to equivalent versions of the original Ka.
The newcomer will be available in four trims - Studio, Style, Style+ and Zetec - and there will be a wide range of options available.
The Studio's standard features include electronic power assisted steering along with adjustable steering wheel, ABS, front airbags, headlamp courtesy delay system, body-coloured bumpers and a CD/radio with mp3 compatibility and six speakers.
The Style, at £8,495, adds powered and heated door mirrors, electric front windows, remote central locking, driver's seat adjustment and memory function and 50/50 split rear seats with headrests.
Air conditioning and a heated windscreen come with the Style+ at £8,995, while the Zetec, at £9,495 will include 15in alloys, fog lamps, upgraded instruments, trip computer and theatre dimming interior lights.
All versions come with 1.2 litre, 69ps petrol engines, with the Zetec getting the option of a 1.3 75ps diesel engine - the first time that the Ka has been available with an oil-burning power unit
Greener motoring is promised with all versions having CO2 emissions below 120g/km, putting the Ka into tax band B meaning a £35 annual car tax for both petrol and diesel models.
Mark Simpson, Ford of Britain's marketing director, says: "We're really excited about the lauch of the all-new Ka. It gives us a great opportunity to appeal to an even wider audience."
