Honda Accord Tourer 2.2 CTDi Executive - Honda Accord Car Review

BOASTING about 'The Power of Dreams' Honda has a lot to live up to but it has to be said that the company is certainly living the dream.

From sound-effect choirs to a transformation through the company's steep history, Honda is simply going from strength to strength with its public appeal.

And with its latest Honda Accord Tourer, all imaginable expectations are easily exceeded.

From heated seats which move every which way to offer the perfect driving position, to rain-sensitive wipers and a highly impressive boot-opening operation, the Tourer really does turn heads.

Boot opening may not sound like it's that inspirational, but picture this. It's wet and windy, you are laden down with shopping from the local supermarket and as you approach your car you press a button on the key fob, and there it is - the tailgate opening for you. Then, be sure to take a moment to look for green-eyed monsters nearby.

There is something reassuringly solid about a Honda. From the moment you close the door with its thud, to the super-strong cabin frame and long list of safety specifications, you just know you are in a safe and secure environment. And to keep it safe from unwanted attention, the Tourer comes complete with a first-class alarm and immobiliser.

But this Honda is not just about features - the performance really is something to behold. For a diesel, it handles supremely well, leaving far bigger and more powerful models standing at the lights. It holds the road and corners without any concerns and, with great visibility, is a doddle to park too.

So, it has looks, power and performance, plenty of luxurious touches, space and comfort. The only gripe will be when you switch off the engine and have to get out of the car - it is that good.
