HONDA has opened the order book for its new Accord family model, which is due to reach showrooms in March with prices from about £17,000.
In addition to subtle styling changes there is more equipment included as standard and there are a trio of innovative safety features.
They are ADAS, LKAS and ACC, which stand for an advanced driver assist system, lane-keeping assist system and adaptive cruise control.
The LKAS system applies steering to keep the car in the centre of a road lane using a tiny camera near the rear-view mirror to monitor the road markings.
If the vehicle drifts toward the edge of a lane, the steering automatically takes it back to the middle.
Adaptive cruise control uses radar to measure the distance to the vehicle ahead and keeps the vehicle at a constant distance from it.
These features are available only on the Accord ADAS model, which is a range-topping version of the 2.4 EX with automatic transmission.
Prices of the new Accord will range from £17,030 to £25,880.
