HONDA'S popular CR-V 4x4 is to get a new look and the option of a diesel automatic version.
The new model will be going on sale next January and will feature more angular looks with a revised front grille and bumpers.
It will also be fitted with Honda's 2.2-litre i-DTEC diesel engine, first seen in the Accord range last year.
The engine develops 150bhp and in the Accord can average more than 50mpg although performance details for the new CR-V are still to be announced.
The CR-V diesel will be available both as a manual and with a five speed auto box and, as with the current line up, active cruise control and advanced safety systems which can sense an unavoidable impact will be offered as extras on top range EX models.
It is the first time a diesel automatic has been offered in the CR-V.
Honda says it will be announcing prices for the new range - which will be built at it's UK factory in Swindon - later in the year. The current CR-V is priced from £19,725.
