HONDA'S Jazz has come at the top of the customer satisfaction surveys for years and is a great small family car to drive.
The 1.4-litre revs very sweetly and smoothly all the way to the red line and pulls hard from 4,000 revs on up.
There is not that much acceleration from lower revs and many people might feel it's slow because of that. Don't be fooled. This is a quick little car.
I did a fast night run to get to a gig and with the air conditioning off - as with all smaller cars - it was huge fun.
It cruised happily at motorway speeds on a long duel carriageway and the superb chassis handled bends and roundabouts beautifully.
But the trip computer only showed an average for the 70 mile trip of 37.9mpg, so I think you would have to keep the speed down quite a lot to get that up to a reasonable level.
It feels many bumps and lumps at speed but is never uncomfortable. However, it can be uncomfortable under 30 in town.
Interior
The seats hold perfectly through corners, and it comes with internal headlamp beam adjustment, a big screen stereo, climate control, heated and folding mirrors, stability control and a trip computer.
There are four electric windows, height adjustable driver's seat, and with the 60/40 splits fold back seats down, I easily got a new washing machine in for my son.
