IT'S the supermini with street smart good looks, a wonder warranty - and a sunroof.
I know it's not a radical feature on a car - particularly one as modern as the Hyundai Getz - but I'd missed its meaning in the frozen months of winter.
Gardeners have daffodils, but I always rely on sun roof remembrance to salute the fact that Spring is here.
More importantly, Hyundai have given the Getz an ultra competitive price tag and a realistic chance of taking on and beating the likes of market leaders Ford, Vauxhall and Peugeot.
The Korean manufacturer has taken the challenge seriously and the Getz shows its commitment to competing in this cut-throat market.
I zipped around town in the 1.6 CDX model for a week. Nimble and nippy it's a fun drive in the city.
But it is the amount of equipment thrown into the package that takes the eye. ABS with electronic brake force distribution, power steering, a CD stereo system, driver and passenger airbags, central locking, a tilt adjustable steering wheel, electric windows and central locking are just for starters.
The CDX model also includes air-conditioning, remote central locking and side airbags.
In the value for money stakes this car should prove to be a big favourite with buyers.
To top it off the Getz has an industry-leading five-year unlimited mileage warranty, six-year anti-rust protection with three years RAC assistance.
Hyundai must be pretty confident in the reliability of the Getz - otherwise its golden guarantees would cost it a fortune.
But the company has missed a few tricks that would have improved the package.
It is committed to selling 80 per cent of production at its advanced Ulsan plant in Europe.
So why put the indicator stalk on the wrong side of the steering wheel?
The engine is fine around town, but the 104bhp 1.6 power unit is a tad noisy at motorway speeds. However AC/DCs Highway to Hell on the CD player - appropriate for the M1 - sorted that out.
The 43.5mpg combined mileage figure is impressive and a 0-62mph figure of 9.6 seconds is respectable. Indeed, the car feels pretty quick off the mark.
There is plenty of space in the cabin. Headroom is good, while two adults can fit in the rear without a squeeze, although a third may find it a bit snug.
Luggage space is a little cramped however. This car isn't for the Tiger Woods clones among you as there could be a few bent woods and irons before bedtime.
The Getz has the cute sexy look of a Felicity Kendall (for those under 30 see re-runs of the Good Life on UK Gold).
I cast around the office for suggestions on a modern day Felicity - but they don't make 'em like that anymore.
One saddo heretically suggested that Penelope Keith was sexier (for those under 30 see above) - but that's like saying a Trabant is cuter than a Ferarri.
Anyway the Getz, with its pleasing lines and clean uncluttered style, is as pleasing on the eye as it is on the wallet.
The car offers agile handling and the ride soaks up most of what the average British road can throw at it.
And with Spring finally here - don't forget the sunroof!
